Art Shape presents ‘Film Fantasia’ class

People facing barriers to mainstream participation such as learning disabilities, mental health issues, those facing the problems associated with aging and many others in Gloucestershire will know Art Shape as providers of quality life enhancing arts activities.
These participants and care providers will be aware that the Spring Term for our regular classes and courses, funded by Adult Education in Gloucestershire, begins this week (week beginning 16th January). Adult Education in Gloucestershire recognise the benefits of participation in acts activities, the demand for more provision in the county and the high standard of provision Art Shape offers and have agreed to add a progression film making and editing class called ‘Film Fantasia’ to the existing mix of classes.
Tutors who lead Art Shape’s classes are fully qualified to teach in the community, are CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) approved and are also professional artists in their individual fields. They are supported with regular training and career development and their performance monitored to maintain the standard required by OFSTED.
All classes are attended by a mix of people with different abilities and needs and are open and accessible for all.  There is a small contribution to the costs of materials used in the classes by the participants of £4.50 per class which is payable in a variety of different ways. (Contact the Art Shape office for more information).
Classes are held in accessible venues throughout the county - Tewkesbury, Stroud, Dursley, Cheltenham and Gloucester.  All our classes are currently full to capacity and we are aware that there is still more demand for them which we have been unable to fulfil through our current funding.  Can you help someone who would really benefit from this kind of learning have the chance to attend one? If you are able to make a donation to help fund more classes please visit our website for details of how to give.
There are still some places on the Film Fantasia class and anybody interested should call the office to speak to Caroline to discuss their eligibility and suitability: this class is intended as a progression route from our ‘Express Yourself’ drama and performance class to a more hands on film-making and film effects class.  A finished, edited film produced by participants at the end of last term can be viewed on our Facebook page (if you send us a ‘friend request’) or email info@artshape.org.uk and ask us to send you a link.
